AHA! Not normal anymore, eeeh? Ok, I really do have writer’s block. Take care, read the newsletter (Chinese or English), be safe, stay away from flowers if you have allergies, and see you at the special lecture this Friday!

8.   Street Sense (街頭意識)!

Food For Lee Family.

2.   4/15 Reverend Li-Ming Hung Special Lecture!
It’s THIS WEEK! Quick bio: In 1991, the whole family moved to Germany as missionaries, spreading the gospel to scholars and intellectuals. In 1999, they left Germany temporarily, and served in Vancouver for 4 years. However, they never ceased to consider going back. Under God’s guidance, they returned to Germany in summer 2004 to serve, and became members of China Evangelistic Mission, Inc.

In Matthew 9:37-38, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” May we learn from this worker of the Lord, and learn the true meaning behind missionary.

8.   Street Sense!
Starting from this month, we will be introducing an organization/association per month in our newsletter. You could donate or pray for them. This initiative introduced by Activity/Outreach group is to encourage us all to participate actively in helping any kind of ministries in which Jesus would not hesitate to lend His hands.

The first organization to kick off the series is Street Sense, a bi-weekly newspaper that seeks to “offer economic opportunities for people experiencing homelessness in our community through a newspaper that elevates voices and encourages debate on poverty and injustice”.

Street Sense vendors pay 35 cents for each paper to cover publishing costs and then sell each paper for $1. The newspaper features news, features, editorials, poems and art about homelessness and poverty and other social issues. About 50% of the paper is written by homeless and formerly homeless individuals.

These vendors could be found in Metro stations area or some public places. They wear yellow vests with the writing “Street Sense”. For each newspaper they sell, they can earn 65 cents. This may be a better way to encourage them to take their first steps towards improved lives. Your $1 could go a long way for them.

Prayer Requests
1.    !!! Brother Chaujun is resting in Manor Care. He is often sedated with pain killer to allow him to rest well and to be comfortable after the surgery last week. Please pray for a quick recovery from the surgery. Currently, visitors are needed to watch over him and assist him with a few simple tasks, (pass water, pray, etc). A sign-up sheet for potential visitors will be posted at church this Friday, and detailed instructions are posted in the room. Each visit is an hour. Brothers and sisters who are sick or about to get sick should not visit.

We ask brothers and sisters who are able to help cook for Sister Jingmann. Since Sister Jingmann spends much time taking care of Brother Chaujun, the best way we can help them go through this battle is offering them meals. Details and sign-up can be found at Food For Lee Family.

Let us unite in one spirit and pray for God’s guidance, strength, mercy and love over this family and our church. May His glory shine like no other, and pull them through to victory.

2.    On 3/11 Japan faces the greatest disaster in their country’s history, a combination of earthquakes, a tsunami, nuclear power plant explosion, and an erupting volcano. May all brothers and sisters unite with the world in prayer, may the Lord use this disaster to show His power, so that the world may see that God is real and His glory. For those who would like to donate to the disaster relief, please see the following links:
