A Place of Quiet Rest

A friend gave me this book as a gift a few years before getting married. She knew that I had always struggled with a consistent devotional life. I was still reluctant to read the Bible, to pray, to do anything beyond serve in church doing the things I was comfortable with. I feared God but didn't feel any affection from Him or for Him. At that time, the last thing I wanted to do was read a book about devotions - boring!
