Elijah Series

Saturday, August 18th, 2007

What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? Through the life and example of Elijah, we too are called to leave a spiritual legacy that glorifies God by leading others and as well as allowing ourselves to be led.

Day Five

Friday, August 10th, 2007

Thank you for coming to our very first VBS! We enjoyed serving your kids and we hope to see you again next year! Thank you for your generosity with all the food you prepared! It was quite a surprise to the staff and it was a great way to end the week.

Day Four

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

We’re hitting the home stretch! Remember! Tomorrow, all parents are invited to the closing assembly to see what your children have been learning through Summer Seaquest! Today’s question was, “Do I have a “Jehovah” or a “Jonah” attitude?” We learned today that anyone who belongs to God is saved by grace through faith in Christ. We also live only by grace through faith in Christ and have done nothing to deserve that grace. Stay tuned tomorrow for our last day of Summer Seaquest VBS!

Day Three

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

Can you believe we are already halfway through? Everyone came back except for poor Julian who got sick on the way to VBS. We missed you! Today’s question was, “Have I been turned around by God?”. We were introduced to Nazireh, the newly repentant Ninevite, acted by who else? Elaine the Storyteller. The concept is that all people need to be “turned around” by God (repentance). We need first to be turned around to be continually turned around by God, as Jonah was, in order to live lives that bring Him glory. For today’s video, go here. We’ll see you tomorrow!

VBS Daily Updates

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

Our very first Vacation Bible School started today. After months of planning it was exciting to see all the captains and first mates suited up and ready to meet our little sea explorers. Half the kids are from our church, and the other half are kids from the community so it was nice to meet all of them. Overall, everything went very well and we could sense that most of the kids were pretty happy to be there. (more…)

Day Two

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

Today’s question is “Am I headed to my Tarshish or my Ninevah?”. During storytelling, we saw that those who belong to God have been turned around by Him in repentance for salvation to live their lives in obedience to God, listening to Him and following His guidance. Here’s a video of today’s story.

Day One

Monday, August 6th, 2007

Our very first Vacation Bible School started today. After months of planning it was exciting to see all the captains and first mates suited up and ready to meet our little sea explorers. Half the kids are from our church, and the other half are kids from the community so it was nice to meet all of them. Overall, everything went very well and we could sense that most of the kids were pretty happy to be there. Please continue to pray for the kids and the staff as we journey together through the story of Jonah.
Today’s topic is “Am I Jehovah’s or Am I Jeering?”. Elaine, (a.k.a. Petera the Pearl Diver), and Jessica (a.k.a. Jonah) did a wonderful skit about the story in Jonah 1:16. There are two kinds of people in the world, those who belong to God and those who do not (those who have been brought into a right relationship with God and those who have not). Check out their skit here.

Casting Off…

The VBS crew spent many hours this past weekend preparing and setting up the stage for our first ever VBS at CTPC. We are all excited and anxious to see how things will turn out. Below are some pictures of our weekend. We’ll be doing daily updates with pictures and video. Please keep us in your prayers!
