Our church is searching for a new children’s director. Please pass the word along:

Position title: Director of Children’s Ministry

Principal focus: The Director of Children’s Ministry role involves four main areas of focus:

  1. Provide a gospel-centered evaluation and continued development of the Children’s Ministry vision and curriculum for children aged pre-school to 5th grade
  2. Lead, teach, and develop potential new structures for the Children’s Services held at CTPC during the Taiwanese and English Services, as needed
  3. Recruit, train, and support the development of new teachers and volunteers to sustain the ministry
  4. Work with the leadership of the church, including the Taiwanese and English-speaking ministries, to cultivate within our church’s children a deeper understanding and love of the Word, a heart to serve others, and a desire to follow Christ


Regular duties

  • Develop the Children’s Ministry vision, oversee its progress, provide a supporting curriculum, and communicate the ministry’s needs to the larger congregation
  • Support the Children’s Services each Sunday by coordinating setup of classrooms and materials and teaching the children’s program
  • Coordinate recruitment of teachers and volunteers from the Taiwanese and English ministries in support of the Children’s Services
  • Support teacher development by holding quarterly meetings to assess and train teachers, modify class structures as necessary, and reinforce ministry goals
  • Create, establish, and communicate expectations of teaching commitments
  • Engage with parents to support spiritual growth of children at home and to periodically communicate the status and direction of the ministry
  • Coordinate classroom environment design and materials management
  • Pray for our childrens’, parents’, and teachers’ growth in faith through this ministry
  • Actively participate in the CTPC church community
  • To plan, recruit, and execute Vacation Bible School during the summer.


Qualifications

  • A profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
  • Fluency in English. Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus, but not required.
  • A seminary and/or education background preferred, but not required.
  • The candidate will working with the children’s ministry team and be subject to the Session
  • The candidate will be expected to attend monthly elder deacon meetings.
  • The candidate will be expected to adhere to the church’s constitution and confessions.


Terms of Call
This position requires 20 hours per week, $1600 a month. Minimum one-year commitment. 2 weeks vacation after 6 months.
