Is God for you or against you?

Is God for you or against you? How you answer this question impacts your day-to-day doesn’t it? It affects the way you interpret your circumstances and failures. It affects the way you see yourself and others. Most importantly, it impacts the way we see God. If God has a perpetual frowny face on you, then there is no desire to know him or seek him. Any good works on our part would be to appease God and get Him off your back.

But thankfully, God is indeed for you and the proof is his sacrificial love found at the cross and his sustaining love found in the resurrection. Listen here to learn more.

Reflection Questions:

  • Before listening to this sermon, how would you have answered the question, “Is God for you or against you?” Why?
  • How can you be sure that God is indeed for you? How did God do to prove this?
  • What thoughts regularly enter into your mind that causes you to doubt that God is for you? What tends to trigger these thoughts?
  • Knowing what you know now in Romans 8, what will you do fight the low grade (or high grade!) condemnation? What truths do you need to soak in? What is Jesus doing NOW that shows us that He is indeed for us?
